Mobile robotics

Mobile robotics is an expanding research field with good potential for carrying out advanced research as well as interesting applications.

The field mobile robotics is extremely multidisciplinary tying together high level research results from many domains resulting in spectacular applications.

Research fields

  • Sensor fusion for robust navigation of mobile robots
  • Adaptive and learning for autonomous systems
  • Modular software architecture for dependable operation of autonomous systems

Sensor fusion for robust navigation of mobile robots

Robust navigation is an essential component for any mobile robotic system solving real tasks. We investigate topics like sensor selection, signal conditioning and advanced signal processing. Furthermore, we develop tools for implementation and algorithms.

Adaptive and learning for autonomous systems

Autonomous systems are always interacting and interacting with humans. To provide an optimal experience for the user as well as to give reliable and safe operation for autonomous systems, we investigate adaptation and learning techniques.

Modular software architecture for dependable operation of autonomous systems

Much research has been carried out in the area of mobile robotics. However, building mobile robot applications still requires a significant amount of development effort. The modular software architecture developed aims to reduce that effort enabling easy and rapid development of the applications.
