Foosball

Aim: The automatic foosball is able to demonstrate the interaction between highlevel AI algorithms, realtime vision and highspeed servos.

Description: A standard foosball table is equiped with highspeed servos on half of the players and in turn connected to a realtime computer running RTAI. A video camera is positioned over the table and connected to the computer. The vibrations of the video camera is compensated in the imageprocessing software. 

Background: The foosball is mainly done as an exhibition artifact but has been able to play nicely against many players.

Projects: The foosball is mainly done in two projects, one for the mechnical and electrical design and one for the AI and software. New projects include the use of more than one camera to roboustify the performance of the play.
