Autonomous Guided Vehicle

AVGAim: Our first mobile robot was aimed at providing a versatile test bed for evaluating algorithms, strategies and software architectures.

Description: Mobile robot equipped with a Sick Laser Range finder, Cameras, Ultra Sound Devices, Pan-Tilt heads. The computer equipment is based on a Single Board Computer using an passive motherboard. There is a CAN bus on board for communication and three wireless communication systems: RS-232, Video link, and Wireless Ethernet. The AGV is capable of running for 6 hours without being recharged because of a 72 Ah battery.

Background: The AGV has evolved through numerous projects since 1990.

Projects: Programming a mobile robot. The project includes programming the robot to perform simple tasks possibly in cooperation with vision and additional equipment like a battery changer etc.

Past Projects: Numerous. The AGV is now retired.
